When witches step in and save her, they also bestow on her a great power. A power that she doesn't want, but that the world desperately needs. Madison has the ability to fight for good, but like every slayer before her, it comes with risks. Too bad there’s no way to undo what’s now been done. The evils lurking in the dark know she exists now, and they will keep coming. She is the only thing that stands between them and Forest Heights.
With vampires invading the town and the knowledge that things that go bump in the night do exist, Madison has to learn what it means to be a slayer. With the help of her grumpy new guardian, Adrian, she can finally start to navigate this new life. But it seems he wants to be her guardian even less than she wants to be a slayer, and she begins to wonder what the broody but smoldering guardian is hiding.
Can she use her slayer powers to defeat evil and maybe live long enough to enjoy it?
